The Rules of Jass Jass is played with a 36­-card deck – A, K, Q, J, 10, 9, 8, 7, 6 of each suit. The object of the game is to score more points than your opponent via tricks and melds. Guitar

I started taking guitar lessons when I was 14; I lasted all of eight sessions? It wasn’t until I was 25 that I started taking an interest in learning again. Typewriters

I don’t know why I collect typewriters. I could tell you it’s because I find it easier to write without the distraction of the internet; that I find the push and response of the keys incredibly satisfying. I love the smudged ribbon ink all over my fingers – or the faint and lingering smell of mineral spirits. Is it because I can’t let go of an outmoded image of what a writer looks like: slightly dishevelled, hunched over a small table with papers strewn across it, fingers at the ready? Read more

Outdated Jass is the national card game of Switzerland and widely believed to have originated in the Netherlands. It is a “trick-and-meld” game. The Deck: 36 cards (A, K, Q, J, 10, 9, 8, 7, 6).
